      Hi Adam,

I need to do something about my leaky carbs. I don't have the time to fix it myself. I saw you posted that you phoned around and found a reasonably priced top bloke. Would you let me know who that was? Can you recommend that person? Reply on my mobile if you prefer: 0424727008

      Thanks!
      Tom

I just noticed that you are in Brunswick - you could also check out Thornbury carburettors. Much closer to you - but he was on the higher price end of the scale - but comes highly recommended and is booked out for weeks.

But nigel at the carby shop in Wantirna will definitely help you out. From memory it cost about $400-$500.
I remember he quoted me a certain amount - but then when I picked them up he said - it came to $50 less than he quoted

Thank you for your help. Sorry if this message has already been sent My van has not been on the road for three years so I was expecting problems with tuning and performance.Itook the van to aVWmechanic previously a good friend of mine helped me purchase and maintain her.I do not feel confident working on the van without assistance from some one who has sufficient knowledge. My family keep telling me to buy a toyota but Ido not want to give up my goal of travelling and camping in the van even though I am 60 next week and a grandma

      Hey mate,
Got mine from Just Kampers Australia. website.
      Mine wasn't cheap ie $700ish.
Improved my steering quite a lot though. However still not perfect.
So many things can go wrong in the steering dept. Try to make sure the box is the problem before you go spending the big bucks!

      Cheers,
      Adam

From the threads on your steering box adventures it would seem you have become an expert on the subject. I am hoping you can help me as I am now on my second steering box and despite having the screw adjusted the problem of wandering steering won't go away. A reconditioned steering box is feasible but I am struggling finding a supplier.

Our Kombi was manufactured in 1970. Can you help with some advice? Happy to call you if easier.
