Hey Roy,
Don't spend to much time on this as I don't know if my budget will allow. My 68's wiring has been badly hacked at. Do you know how much it would cost to get a full 68 wiring loom including new switches, joiners, fuse box ect??? Is it even possible and if it is do they come in the same colour codes or is there a new wiring diagram with them. Regards, Brad |

As for a complete loom am not sure but thought I'd seen some somewhere.

Just so other peole know, I have since tracked down two things.
VW Heritage in UK can send me over a complete main loom, a headlight loom, and new switches for about $800AU Delivered. These are colour coded the same as the originals. Then its either doing it myself or paying a pro to install at $88/hour. 20 hours maybe??? I also spoke with Acacia Ridge Mobile Auto Electrics. They specialise in custom building wiring looms. They reckon they cost about $3500 up depending what you want. If I am doing that however a found a 2007 thread recommending a fella at Ipswich that I would try to speak to. Thanks Kahuna. |

We do not have many wiring looms. I may have one 68 loom in stock
This will be only up to the fuse box and some are LHD from overseas I have found that a good Auto Electrician can make you a loom to suit your needs. Our mobile guy normally charges between $400 -$600 to remove old wiring and renew where needed and fit everything back in clean and tidy. Maybe not original colours but nobody sees it when tucked away Cheers Roy |

Thanks Roy,
I would really appreciate the contact of your auto electrician. He may be too far away but may be able to point me in the right direction. |

Have a quick check on the UK early bay website, I think there is I guy who does them for under 200 pound. Having done one for an old alfa I couldn't buy the parts for that sort of money.
