Daisy,
If you have the inside door trim off ,youll see that at the base of the glass there are 2 10mm bolts that are bolted into the metal frame at the base of the glass.
Undo those two and the glass comes free from the winder setup. Theres the same size bolts for the internal winder mechanism 6 in total. If you ondo them and pull the mechanism out, blow all the gunk out with an air gun, wash with petrol and a brush to clean old gease and dirt out.Use your winder handle to move the mechanisms inside wire up and down whilst cleaning , till its moving freely and your happy with the up down action. Regrease the mechanism and it should be as good as new.If doesnt get any improvement in the winding up and down action your up for a newie.
If the metal frame at the base of the glass is too far rusted or broken, you can buy new ones. This is a bit tricky to change over and may require the glass pulled out of the door. The glass is basically wedged into the rubber seal inside the metal bracket. You just slide a long narrow screw driver down between the glass and backet an slowly leaver each side up until it pops off. Take your time and be careful as you can get some glass in your eye. This is a good time to change over your doors inner and outer seals, baily channel and 1/4 vent felt as it hard to slide the glass out with out these removed first.
Hope this help you out.

cheers chuck

Did you find a new part for the channel the window glass sits in (your rusty bit)?

Default pics of window mechanism

i just poped out and took these of my so called finished job i guess im not totaly happy but it will do for now (rego check soon).
first one is of the whole door dah...

[IMG][/IMG]

second one is the two "bolts" for the arch in the arm. once i finally re bent the mechanism to fit in the door without blocking the glass from comming up, these to holes didnt meet but the rest did fine others have had this same problem with bus stop window mechanisms and have drilled new holes. I tried using a cable tie instead (i cant bare hurting my girl) and it worked a treat was a bit of a bugger to get it in there though!

[IMG][/IMG]

third is the unfortunate small gap i now have when the window is all the way up due to the bend in the arm not happy jan!! but at least it will stop the rain!

hope this is helpful to someone out there!

any other pics wanted im very happy to take and post.

Sorry double post... I think it maybe the mechanism, or the arm that lifts it up. A picture will clarify..

yeh, wanted to see if it was sitting level in it or if the arm itself is bent.
