hi all - fresh from our first bus stop we made it from Forbes to Wellington NSW on 3 cylinders - we have checked our spark plugs and they are about the same age as Abbey Rd !!
Looking for advice on what to replace them with - we need to buy some tommorow to get another 1000km to home.
We have an 1800 engine in a 73 bay T2..... Had the best time at the bus stop - made many friends and learnt so much.... Thanks Nic & Jem x

Is it the front left cylinder that is not working

    Gidday Nick and Jem,
What a bugger just after bus stop. I was having on going problems with spark plugs for ages and picked up advice from the forum to toss Bosch plugs away and go for NGK BP 6ES. I have a 2 litre '76 bus. Good luck guys. Vincenzo, aka Titch.

We are just up the road in Geurie and have a spare set of spark plugs for a 1600 engine - don't know if they would be suitable for an 1800 engine? If they are not suitable for you, Repco in Wellington are pretty good and can look up what sort you need.

Yep if you mean front as in closest to you when looking at the engine from the rear ( aka with her skirt up ) we also noticed that it is the only one with a Bakelite HT lead on the spark plug side
Think we will replace the leads as well. ?

No front as in front of bus

Try swapping a plug from another cylinder to see if it is the plug

I'm at work in Wellington today, have thrown our spare spark plugs in the car so I will have them with me just in case. I have a full day of teaching classes at the high school so unfortunately I won't be available until after work. If you haven't sorted out your issue by then I'd be happy to give you a hand. You can call me on 0484241653, if you don't catch me leave a message and I'll get back to you when I can.

Thanks for all your help cbus, so far the cv's good , not a sound from that area at all,
We just got the normal leads, from the local repco, I hear you also had a spot of trouble, I'm sure it didn't take you long to fix it, it was great meeting you, see you at the next gig

Don't think of it as a troubled journey guys, think of it as an adventure that you can tell the grand children about.;):):D
