The other intersting thing is the slight changes that westfalia did on the so34 models from 61 to the last year of 65.
The sub hatch latch that holds the top down comes in three types.
Heres an early 61/62 one thats all Chrome metal.

Mine has the black bakerlight ceramic knobs to suit the 65 model. I also have red bakerlight ceramic coloured ones that came with the car which looks like came off the 63/64 models. So thats 3 different ones. Luckily i have my black set already.

Picking up a westy rack on sunday.
Not sure if it is original or not but itll do for now. Not the shinny chrome ones you see around. 20292856_1083413198455343_5600873457124089991_n (1).jpg

I found another hard to get part on Gumtree.. Most people would not spot it on this pile of parts offered for sale. It is the white long metal piece on the left. Its a cover that goes over the cargo door lock mechanism that came out on westfalia models from what ive found on thesamba. 100090260_10222544967643934_3487850427486044160_n.jpg

Found a nos swf indicator arm correct year and colour for the car to add to the parts stash.

Under indicator switches it lists the following:
    Bus 4.'55 to 5.'60 = LS 200 266
    Bus 6.'60 to 7.'61 = HLS 200 210
    Bus 8.'61 to 7.'64 = HLS 200 346
    Bus 8.'64 to 7.'65 = HLS 200 346
    Bus 8.'65 to 7.'66 = HLS 200 564
    Bus 8.'66 to 7.'67 = HLS 200 564
    Bus 8.'67 to 7.'68 = HLS 200 915
    Bus 8.'68 to 7.'70 = HLS 200 915
Bus 8.70 on = HLS 200 964 (* in '72 the paddle shaped one was introduced which from my own records is HLS 201 096)
These would be their part numbers for the complete unit.

i have just picked up a repo westfalia style roof wood bows made out of the original oak wood as per how the factory would of made them back in the day.
These came from a lady in the u.s.a. Clara who makes them and Westy wood door cards an birch roof panels ill order out of the states one day.
I stumbled onto them from a guy at newcastle who had them an decided not to use them.
I have the original ones that came with the car but they have some rot so ill use both sets to make up what i need to complete a set for my car.

I picked up a busboys u.s.a. front and rear sway bar to suit irs splittys that a guys dad had stored for years in the garage in a cement mixer and is new old stock close to home.
He said his dad had one those split screen ones with the glass in the roof an a soft top roof and windows all around the sides.
When i quized him more about the car he said he sold it to a guy down the south coast for $4500 around 10 years ago. I asked it it had all the seats an such an he said they went to the tip! his jaw nearly hit the ground when i told him what there worth today.
