Perfect spring weather helped to make good attendance numbers at todays event.
A few more random happy snaps of the day:
And the awards went to:
Best T1 Split
Best T2 Bay
The KB looks fantastic, but could do with a few more driving lights. Bring it to Nationals & add to the collection.
Still haven’t finished the cerecote on the driving light bodies, and the power mirrors - hopefully by Old Bar.
Looks a good turn out couple of nice Razors as well as Type 3's
You couldn't get a better day. Nice photos Grantus, thanks for them. You got them early no one in them Congratulations on your win .
Took those “non kombi shots”, with you in mind.
Also getting a bit over people attending events, not bothering to take any pics, expecting others to do it......then waiting for stuff to appear on facebook.
I thought I’d do the polite thing, by making a little effort to take an upload some pics to share here on KC. And none to Facebook!
Congratulations Grant! Well done
Good job Grant & much appreciated. Felt warm being there. Thanks
Guilty as charge sorry Grantus I was taking photos of DC internals for my up coming journey of putting mine together. Getting inspired .
No guilt Wayne. Thought we already discussed early, that I would cover this one on behalf of KC?
Great to have some in-depth chat today, and assume you are now home safe.
See you at Old Bar next weekend??????
It was great to Chat today Grant and to admire your handy work today and yes thanks home safe n sound.
Looking into accommodation in Taree and Father like to come as well and not quite knowing how everything is going to work with the car coming home. see what happens I guess.
AND we both learnt something today. Found yet another part, that is interchageble between a 72 and 91 Kombi. Who would have thunk?
Reminds you why you bought TheKB in the first place
Coz Carole said to? (Truth).
I had my eye on the top of the range 8 seater Toyota, with air con, stereo, power windows, twin headlights for $26k, but she was over the Japanese workhorses, and thought the German Caravelle may last a bit longer.
So she talked me into buying the non aircon, no stereo, basic bus for $32.5k.
Jokes on her now, coz even she would never have guessed it would last this long!!!
Yes we did.All from a simple question from a third party got the investigation under way. So I know where to look for a better part that is possibly in better condition then the old T2 one
So what's the part that VW had so many of to run over that many years.
Sorry.... the angled shaped black plastic water cover cap, that goes over the front windscreen washer bottle on the bay, is the same part and even stamped part number, to the one that fits over the rear window washer bottle on the rear RH card on a T3.
The third party mentioned, had bought an aftermarket new one, (with no stamped part number) and wondered why it didn’t fit. It was similar, but smaller in size and diameter, and purchased from your favourite local purveyor of classic VW parts, that seem to often be JUST not quite right....
My pick of the day was this one. Not original, not rat, but just looked very cool!
