Hi guys, I just bought a reco 2L gearbox to fit onto my 1600 once I've rebuilt it after destroying a rod bearing.

The gearbox I bought is a 2ltr with a 1600 bellhousing to attach to it and a new input shaft. What im wondering is where can I find the necessary bolts to attach the bellhousing to the trans as I have no bolts to do so
    Any help would be appreciated

Has the gear box currently have no bell housing on it?

Correct, no bell housing attached. So I need to work out the length and types of bolts required

You may also need a gasket between the two?bell housing and gearbox. Which if you went to a old school VW spare parts places in Victoria you may ask if they have bolts for you as well.(where in Victoria are you?)
You need 10 bolts and washers
    m8 x 50 mm x 6
    m8 x 30 mm x 4
    10 wave washer
make sure the bolts are graded as 8.8 high tensile
If not a good bolt place should have the bolts, getting wave washer you won't get at a bolt place. Where you get them I don't know.

Thanks for the info just what I needed, I have a paper gasket kit for a 1600 trans which should have the Bell housing gasket, or would I be better off using a liquid gasket?

If you got a gasket that fits use it.
