    Hi All,
I thought I'd share some pics of a resto we did on a complete 'don't even bother it's too far gone' rusty paddock wreck a couple of years ago. Starting out as a challenge for a mate of mine who works in the sheetmetal industy with a background in drafting. I knew he had the skills and the tenacity to complete the resto with some help from yours truly. Unfortunately I dont have any photos on me of the early years but I will get some soon so you can see what we started from.
So basically when I started to work on the bus the whole bottom 10inches had been replaced including crossmembers, outriggers, floors, bottom nose and of course sills and battery trays with Laurie custom folding a lot of stuff that couldn't be bought at the time.
The project started at least 8 years ago when the car was bought out to my place where I have plenty of room but in those first few years it was really only sandblasted and a couple of repairs started.
Once Laurie had room at his factory in brisbane the project really took off, so really 90% of the work was done in about 18 months.
The Belle has been a long haul but the rewards are great and I'm sure it will be a beautiful bus for years to come .
100% rust free and clean bare metal is always the best starting point.
So these pics are from when all the hard metalwork was done.

Just fantastic - especially as you resisted the temptation to go for the lowered/narrowed/ratted "look"

Will get some more pics on weekend. The most amazing photos are the old ones showing what we started with. It was picked up the day before the car crusher came.

My daughter Greta is an up and coming photographer and we thought we would do some 'arty' shots in the factory where the Belle was reborn

Dave Butler rebuilt the gearbox and reduction hubs with the ratios slightly altered for better highway performance.

1600 twin-port doing engine duties at the moment. Probably needs a nicer intake and exhaust but it does the job.
