Wheel on each corner, steering wheel back on...........ready to roll!
Had a set of vw mud flaps in the box so i threw them on.
Rear tailight are new german ones all new hella bulbs installed.
Put in the speedo cable, just got to hook it up to speedo when the wirings checked.
Pats finished off the welding and grinding on inside the 3 window section. Cleaned down with thinners, rust convertor an some red oxide to seal it.
Now were ready to put the windows in.
So i put the seals on the 2 front windows and the 3 side glass are now ready to go in. Using new german glass and rubber seals.
Ill put these in tomorrow with a help off a mate.
Put on the head light to body seals. Thats what you get in the packet hanging on the wire. Ones fitted so you can see what it looks like on
Head lights in.
Working quick now. A pleasure to see your successful progress. Got a lot done in 10 minutes. Look forward to seeing this bus with the paint still curing at Old Bar.
Pats had a big day on the welding tools again..happy with the welder now he's got a fresh bottle of gas on it.
Time for the seat base brackets. The section that was welded in didnt have any as everyone was out of stock.
So just plain corragated floor sheet was put in. I found a supplier in the u.s.a. tha makes the pressed section we needed.
So this panel was fitted in 2 sections.
Dressed up an welded in.
Just need the rear seat tab section fitted to the rear engine bay wall an sort the side seat brackets and then the seats can go in
Next is to weld in a bunch of seat bolt brackets.
Then a heavier gauge finishing plate was made up and welded in ontop for the seat frame base to sit on.
The cargo doors lock in plate in the packet will get welded in when we fit the doors back on.
Later on we'll finish the few small edging trim bits and ill get the floor sand blasted and repainted to clean it all up.
Looks like you're going to make it. May I say I thought you'd undertaken the impossible task!
Congratulations plus too see you at Old Bar.
Hey david h,
Not finished till the blue slip inspection passes when ever that is?
Yep, see you at old bar..
Pats finishing off the smaller welding jobs..

Passengers A pillar needed a few areas welded up. All ready for me clean and paint.
The passengers B pillar door striker plate looked like its falled down the pillar.
Pat cut a small slot for access, luckily it was only caught at the bottom of the bracket and he could slide it back up and rebend the bracket to lock it in.
Whilst pats been doing the welding my mate Kman put in the cvs.
Bumper stop are in, they need to modifeid later to suit the creative setup.
Also the shock absorbers are bolted in using the creative kit. Theres a newer kit which puts your shocks more straighter and give better travel , so ill replace mine later with them.
Pats been busy finishing off the mechanicals. No sleep, whilst in went home for 3/4 hour snooze.
Gear stick and selector rods fitted in. Gear box filled with oil, tightened bolts an check everything.
Then i came back to this.
Ive fitted a new earth strap, battery lead and the new engine hatch bracket.
Tricky fitting this bracket as ive never done one,
Kman an pat helped me fit the new glass in.
Inside with the card fitted in.
Cargo doors refitted now were finished the main welding.
The rubber seals are pushing the door out of alignment so ill take tgem out and change to the car , not on the doors.
All the doors will need fine tuning with adjustments at some stage.
Front doors are in with new mirrors. They need some adjustment tweaks, but they close o.k.
Looks close chucky!
Overal shot both sides
Loving this Panel build and the speed you are getting it back together.
Wish I could get mine over the line for Old Bar.
Long hours, and a bit of crazyness do do it in the first place i think and its possible.
