I have a feeling in me water doc that this is going to be a very pretty but a very naughty bus!
I don't think I'll be racing against this one!
Sadly, judging by my experience with Dave's last Triumph bike, I'll get to look at it but not to drive it!

    .......................................................... he's so selfish!!

Might possibly head down there for a look.
I know a few are going so might tag along.
Mine might be finished about Easter time.

    Thanks Doc.
Have fitted them yesterday and also fitted the 4 inch narrowed beam and tie rods.
Everything is now new on the front, ball joints, center pin, seals, brakes, tie-rods the lot.
The only thing not new is the actual beam tubes, couldnt find them in the right gauge?/

Also fitted my rear hubs, again everything is new, just waiting on the handbrake cables and the new drums.

the extra holes are if I want to run either kombi rims 14mm or beetle rims 12mm studs

Also had some spare time so I cleaned the type 3 iRS box, painted it and replaced all the nuts with stainless ones.
I know no one will ever see it but I did it for me.

Fitted some beetle rims to the front then realised I needed to cut down the wheel bolts.
All done now and they fit really well, mind you it does look narrowed with the 4 1/2 inch beetle rims. Hopefully my delivery of new drums will arrive on Monday and I can get it in the shed.
I dropped my engine case at the builder today as well so I just have to wait till its finished.
Mind you I still have a load to do on the body but at least all the welding is finished.

considering buying some wide 5 discs for my single cab
couple of questions for you about the Sherman discs,
do they widen the track at all?
why are those bolt heads there on the wheel mounting face? , these would be a problem with my aftermarket rims , could you counter sink the bolt holes and use high tensile counter sunk bolts to get a flat wheel mounting surface?

    Hi Darren.
They dont widen the track, ( after I had narrowed the beam as well???) and he asks what wheels you are going to use, I think he does them with bolts set back, will have alook at another set today for you,
I am using beetle rims so thats why it doesnt bother me.

At long last its back on its wheels, the handbrake cables are in, the rear drums are on, the front is quite narrow as I only have some temp beetle rims on and they are only 4 inches wide.
I cant feel how firm the front is yet as there is no weight in it and I will have to wait till its all finished with engine seats ect in it before I get the shockers made.

Anyway back in the shed, got a fair bit of rubbing down to do now.

Had a visit from The Kombi body guru today who gave me a few good tips.
He has the straightest split I have ever seen.
If you have seen the dark green one with wheel spats you know what I mean.

I also went up to see Ray at his new place in Mt Barker to get some wheels from him.
Hes set up there, huge shed great neighbours what more could you want.

So back to the rubbin down

Last weekend I decieded I might as well go all out and bought some Creative adjustable spring plates.
They are well made just like all Creatives stuff, went on easy and look great.

I also skimmed the sills where I had welded the new ones in, not much filler needed at all

And also a skim on the front
