Well the body is now painted, just finished, all I have to paint now is the pop-outs, safari's, bumpers and some little bits.

Just spent all up about 8 hours going over it with 1500 then 2000 wet and dry, as I have said i dont like the peel effect that modern ( 2 pac) paints leave, but they are the hardest and longest lasting, so I have had to flatten it off before it gets polished.
Problem with making it too flat is it gives it a really nice shine, this in turn shows all the ripples and woffs in the sides., You cant win.

Heres some of the long side and the reflections in it before it gets the proper mop polish

Thanks, I am happy with it, not too shabby for a home paint job, its not a show winner its going to be a daily driver and used as my main transport.
Heard today that my engine builder will be starting on it in a couple of weeks, now that is what I am getting excited about.
A B4 motor, first time one of his engines has gone in a van.

Its not down to me, its my mates that have helped with advice, encouragement and giving me a hand.
There is no way you can do a resto on your own.

I had a spare couple of hours this evening so I dismantled all the pop-outs, safaris door tops ect , cleaned them all up and hung them in the shed.
I then sprayed them with etch primer. I didnt think it would take as long as it did but you have to be very careful that you coat every bit of them with the primer.
I dont know if you can tell by the pics but there are 20 items hanging in the shed.
