Was wondering if anyone would notice the beetle in the background...
Haha. Everyone here checks incase that dream car is hiding back there somewhere.
Hey 2 months older than my auto...December 76.Looks to be all including the original exterior trim!
Oh that’s awesome Rosie! Micro bus also?
Yes, seems mostly original, apart from front seats... even found a few old TAB slips under the front seats!!
Looking forward to the first cruise with the family.... hopefully soon
Yes a microbus delux...it came with a speedo that has a trip meter!
Would love to know what the green stamp on the back of that says (month/year)
Awesome pick up Marzy! Lucky you've got space down there.
Are you coming to DotVW on Sunday?
Thanks mate, yes a lucky find. Not sure on Sunday yet, would be great to get there!
Yup did so ..... wondered if another project or a paddock basher
That was where we picked the bus up from....plenty of projects at that place....almost too many
06/76 sticker on speedo.
Thanks. Fits build date plate. Didn't think they came new with trip meter. Maybe an option??
Some new bits on the Microbus today
New drivers door window winder
Finished some new fuel lines & vapour lines
New Vacuum pipes on motor and air box
New seal in rear window
Kombi Club sticker fitted!
New Boots on freshly painted rims! Went with Toyo H08’s based on feedback in this forum
Well done Marzy. Wheels maketh the bus so a great place to start. Reckon a 'cut & polish' will get this close to 'best original'.
You get this from the wanderer?
And thanks for the photos.
Yeah a bit of hard work and he’ll come up a treat!! Did a bit of cut & polish around the rear window before installing it, WOW it’s almost like new paint underneath.... going to come up Awesome Looks heaps better with clean rim and new tyres too! Did want white walls, but then I thought 8 seater....8 big blokes.... don’t want a flat then, would never hear the end of it
And I’m still too much of a newbie, who’s the wanderer?
New mechanical fuel pump fitted and tested Ernie now runs, now onto the next job.....
Where did you get that from?
I though they were NLA?
Yes, after the feedback on here about Chinese pumps..... I Took the leap and purchased from https://shop.righteouskombis.com.au/collections/vw-kombi-and-beetle-parts (i have no connection to this business)
Pump made by PTV in Europe https://www.ptzfuelpump.com/en/fuel-pumps/mechanical/cars/pn-4634
Didn't come with gaskets though.....
Lets see how long it lasts.....
Time for a wash and a spin around the block! I think Ernie was very excited to get back out on the road after such a long time! So much so his speedo was reading 140km/h when we where doing 20
