Gear linkages and levers/pedals before gearbox and front beam axle go back in.
After “Weld”, and before “Final Paint”……..you’ll need to insert a considerable amount of Grinding, Panel Beating, Filling, Sanding, and Priming.
this is the part everyone completely miscalculates in time and money .
Lots of stuff you can do now the car is stripped down.
Whilst the car is at the paint shop stage, start cleaning all the running gear.
Check the rear cv,s boots and bearings. Pull them apart , clean degrease and re paint the torsion rod black an reinstall the bearings an new cv boots
with the new grease and wrap in plastic bags on the ends to keep the dirt out till your ready to install. Clean/ degrease the outer bolts an clips and put in a zip lock bag and label it, should be 24 of each. Clean and repaint the spring plates.
Buy new donuts rubbers to go into the spring plate holes under the torsion covers. Clean and repaint the torsion covers and clean up bolts with a wire brush.
Then onto the brakes, backing plates will need cleaning and repaint or buy new ones. The rear brake pads measure the width of the brake pads and get new ones an check the drums whilst you at it. They may need replacing if it has bad scouring gouges in them from warn down pads. Id replace all the brake lines with new ones.
Empty the fuel tank an check for internal rust, pull the fuel sender out an buy a new one with new seals.
Check the rubber hoses that goes to the fuel neck. Usually they are gone, so get new ones and clamps if needed.
Clean down the battery straps and repaint in black. Repaint the tank and reassemble with the new fuel sender and new hoses ready to put in later but plug the holes with clean clothes.
How is the fuel cap? is the cork seal any good or replace the whole thing.
Then onto the front beam and brakes. Are you going to pull it down an rebuild or replace everything your self?
I would so you do not have dramas later on. Should cost around $1500 to buy all the bits and rebuild it. or around $2500 for some one else to do it.
You need to clean up all the gear stick, clutch and brake pedals springs etc and repaint.
Hows the excelerator pedal? clean and repaint. Clean the pedal push rods, springs etc . re paint or replace, bag and label.
Youll need new excelerator cable x 2 , new clutch cable x 2, brake cables x2 , speedo cable and c clip.
Buy 4 new shockies, more then likely the others are no good, clean the shocky bolts an repaint , put into a labeled bag sealed ready to go.
Are you putting in sound deadner? You,ve got to fit that before retiming with door cards and install the head lining . Buy that now.
Get your new wire harness made now. When running the new wiring harness in do you need extra wires for the stereo ,amp and sub woofer?, usb charger points for phone or cigarette lighter for navman gps? solar charger etc. A good auto electrican can make one off your old one an schematics and add extra wires for the other stuff. Around $800.
Clean the dash and repaint in a satin black, the glove box cover , Does the inner cardboard liner need replacing? the rubber dash trim can be repainted in black vinyl paint paint after a clean with degrease oil remover stuff. Replace the dash light bulbs and clean inside it. Do not pull the switches out if you have not already, clean it an leave them in place. Your plastic vent covers can be painted in the vinyl paint or buy new ones. Hows the interior lights? cracked? clean and replace bulbs. Check seat belts for freying or wear. You could get knocked back for rego. Replace if needed. Front floor mats? clean or replace ? under seat rubber mats? any good ? replace or carpet kit?
Clean the head lights an polish the alloy trim, replace bulbs if needed with leds or other.
Pull rear tailights apart, clean contacts an replace bulbs with leds or other. Hows the lens and seals ? need replacing. Onto the number plate light, is the plastic lens broken? rusty? fix , clean or replace. Put into bag ready for later.
Take the rims to a tyre shop and remove tyres. Sandblast the rims and repaint . Refit tyres or get newies.
Lastly make a shopping list and check it off when you buy stuff. Youll end up with double parts left over otherwise.
So yeah, busy busy....
Thanks for that amazing summary.. wow you saved me some head time there.. yes will systematically go through that ... with the wiring ? Should I toss what I got out in 3 piece's and just get a whole new one ? Like could it be reused ? I probably doubt that an auto electrician would touch it .. anyway
Here's some things I need

1 rear rock and roll seat
All rubbers for doors windows etc
New steering wheel, the one I have is cracked probs ok
2 front tyres
All chrome side strip's redone and hubcaps crome
