Yes - that's what he called it  - we dragged this one away from Adrian (Mordred) after spying it on our recent trip to Tassie. As a 50th birthday present, how could I not buy it for him?

Plans - keep it original - Martini Olive (probably the ugliest colour VW used - in my opinion) will stay and just be tidied up. Needs an under dash tray and a middle seat and he will stick roof racks on for the SUP.

It is currently on the Spirit of Tasmania and will be home by the end of the week.

He made sure he bought some supplies for the trip home.

I like Martini Olive! Looks like a great bus and nice know who it came from and how it was care for.

I can remember returning to the Kombi fold 11 years ago when I was also turning 50 and a Kombi was my special birthday present.

You celebrate your 50th on the same night as our Gala evening of next years Bus Stop, are you going to follow the 50th birthday tradition?

No, not me - I think we have enough regos with 2 motorbikes, one split, one golf, one new beetle, one Touareg , 2 bays and a Daihatsu Charade.
The gala night will be enough for me - I was thinking of maybe a trip to Bali for my present but I won't be able to afford it after Little Red's new motor and buying Spotty.
    She is visiting friends tonight.

The other yellow bay will now be very jealous.

    Who gets the garage space???

    Maybe a rotational thing....

We recently had a concrete pad put out the front - I think its going to end up with some sort of cover.

We've used the Coolaroo brand shade sails from Bunnings, that last well and are a fraction of the cost of getting custom ones made.

Last trip to Bunnings, I see that Coolaroo now make a rain proof one, in a 5m x 3m option.

Adding the coverage already from your eaves, it may be a good and economical solution perhaps...........

He made it home safely with absolutely no issues (of course) - except for swearing at the GPS when he wanted to find a motel in Yass. Photos tomorrow.
