I have a two way radio on my 76 kombi and was wondering what is the best type of bracket to get to mount the antenna on and whereabouts is the best place to position antenna. I don't have a bullbar either. Any advice is appreciated. Cheers.

Dads 76 Kombi had a gutter mounted uhf antenna that worked really well. You used to unscrew the fitting and the antenna folded flat and rested in the gutter. As far as I know he still has the antenna but not the Kombi anymore.

You can fit a bracket over the edge of the front bumper or making something up to attach to the bumper fitting bolts so as not to drill any holes however an antenna works best up higher with no interference so even on a bullbar is not ideal.

We used to get exceptional reception from the gutter mount one. As it folded it caused no issues with height.
