Hi KCers, I've just embarked on the rite of passage in Kombi ownership that is having a child and opening up the Pandora's box that is getting child restraints legally and safely installed. To this end I have been to Pearce's Child restraints to get a quote on a C.R.A.B. installed and have been told (not surprisingly) that the rear seat/bed doesn't cut the mustard. It's a British made and delivered Dormobile camper, which despite being well engineered and tricky with a lot of other parts, the seat/bed is secured only to less than 10mm plywood backing, which is in turn screwed into the side of the cabin with a few tiny screws. So as I've trolled the countless threads on the topic, I've realised the only light at the end of the tunnel is to get the ADR approved RnR bed from Kustom Kombi. As they are up in Queensland, I was hoping there might be one installed in someones Kombi a bit closer to home that I could check out, take a few measurements and see the quality etc. So if there's anyone in Sydney, preferably Northern Beaches-ish, that doesn't mind me having a stickybeak, please let me know. Also, anyone not in Sydney that's got one, how does it go? Thanks, Matt.
