Street VW 1995
May have to go through my old VW Magazines and see what's in them
Know there used to be a lot of Beetles and articles from the USA ..... one has an article of a Beetle resto on the Central Coast and a young(er) Peter Korch
I often wonder this as I look at some of the photos from the shows over the years, they all look beautiful at that time but then they disappear into the sunset.
Years ago my mate Steve picked up a 64 beetle - magenta and cream in colour he was only about 16 at the time.
it was an ex-magazine car.
The current owner was a lady who had broken up with panel beater husband and it was sadly sitting in their back yard.
Steve walked up, knocked, and made and offer.
He ended up with a cracking good car after a fair bit of cleanup and a bit of mechanical works
They probably all expect to win the nationals with there show cars and once they don't they turn their nose up,sell the car and walk away. There has been plenty of cars I've seen at cars show that are only ever seen once and then like they have disappeared of the face of this earth
VW Power Magazine 1990
... everyone is an individual
I wonder what that looks like now?
Seen plenty of heavy bog jobs win categories in car shows as well and people rave over them.
Little did the understand what was underneath.
The truth showed up on a few soon after .
That would also kill a far few owners and there cars as well. Spend to much buying or doing one up and once they find out that it's got to much bog, they can't afford to do it all again.
Been quite a few in that situation with some of our Aussie " restorers"
Just be like me, metal finish but never actually ever finish the car.... should have bogged it again :/
Well the NSW rego check brings up a blank
