Here we go at trying to upload a photo or 2 of Barry! He's a March 61 11 window Kombi in pretty good condition for a paddock rescue. May go on the road as is for a while as he's got enough paint to get by. Plenty of mechanicals to play with first though. Seems to be minimal rust at this early stage. All door hinges and latches working. Cheers, Roo

Thanks guys. Bit of a story behind it. Many years ago this guy took the motor out of my father-in-laws 57 panel (now mine) to put in his Kombi. When I started to recover the 57 panel, the f-i-law said about the engine being gone and where it went (locally, luckily). I then made contact with the owner (having known him for a few years) and he informed me not only did he have the original motor that I could have but also still had his complete bus if I was interested in making an offer. Needless to say, it's now mine!!! As many people say, they are out there waiting to be rescued. This guy had heard that these were starting to become valuable, but still had no idea of it's worth. He gave me a figure he thought was reasonable, I disagreed and gave him double on the spot!! I don't believe in ripping people off and still feel like I did!! Three days later, my young bloke and I went on the rescue mission, armed with a bobcat and truck. 2 hours later (and some hand digging), Barry emerged from the creek bed unscathed. Brought him home and tucked him gently into his shed. That's our story of how Barry came in to our lives. Time frame: ASAP!!!

Excellent story to start a project!

Great to see you paid a higher price, to get a bit closer to real value. Good for all parties concerned.

Stories like this puts ones faith back into humanity, when true gentleman such as yourself, are still around..... well done!

Looking forward to the resto pics.
