    Narrowing front torsion-beam suspensions!?!

At the risk of asking an obvious or silly question, why would one wish to narrow a front torsion-beam suspension, given the adverse effects that this might have, on understeer & oversteer characteristics, under constant-speed, braking, acceleration and cornering conditions!?!

    re beam

I just did one for myself and even being a panelbeater it was a difficult job.
I think If I added up all my time and price of the parts I probably could of bought one cheaper already done.
But its the satisfaction I guess.

    Shaun.

    Check my resto.
It only took a day to narrow and fit adjusters to a beam.
Not that hard as long as you check and double check, the hardest bit was cutting the old mounting ends off.
If your not competent with a welder or dont have one big enough just take the bits to a welder.

Its really not that hard, if you can measure and use a grinder its easy.
If you cant weld you can take the parts to your local welder and the jobs done.

I've been doing beetle beams narrowed with sway a way adjusters for $495 exchange. I can supply ball joint kombi beams too now if anyone is interested.
Obviously they're cheaper if you don't want it narrowed.
I haven't got any link pin front ends at the moment so can't offer exchange on them.
