Baywindow rear swing away system

    pull both pins, remove the bike rack
    remove the 4 bolts holding the hinge plates (left and right side)
    Rear bumper fits over what's left, held on by two 6mm bolts each side
    tow ball bracket fits through a cutout in the middle of the bumper when you want to pull a trailer.

    I think get it...
    So only modification to the bumper is the cutout and the four mounting holes?
    Original bumper mounts used or discarded and replaced by mounts integrated with tow bar?

    Reason for asking...
    I have a spare knocked around bumper that has a tow bar welded to the original bumper mounts with a few cutouts etc.
    I may be able to be salvage and make into something similar to yours so that I can then keep the existing bumper in good condition.

    Took a few more pics
    Kombi is home at the moment because we're leaving Monday
    hard to get good pictures laying underneath
    Can take better pictures end of next week when it's on the hoist in my workshop.

    Looks like it also adds some extra protection and strength, for a minor rear impact too… :rolleyes:

    If a truck rear ended me it would bounce off. the cross Bar is 4mm

    Nice! :)

    Also ensures the teenage “P” plater in the compact car following, busy texting on the phone, and not seeing you have stopped, will HAVE to walk home when the radiator ends up under the dashboard. :p
