Or it will bend and weaken the studs, to let the "nuts seat themselves"....

It seems a less than ideal thing to do.....o_O (no matter how many times you have been lucky, and not had any issues so far.)

    Rob,

Noting your comments and pics that you've now deleted, I was only expressing personal concern, and in no way meant to offend.:(

Each to their own, in risk assessments of modifications, legal or not, to their own Kombis. ;)

I gave Bertie some new shoes...actually they are handme downs from my bay which will be getting big baja type rubber...Momo 16x7.5 if the tyres were any bigger...which of course they will be...i'll have to extend the door support WP_20161024_002 (2).jpg WP_20161024_001 (2).jpg

Nice wheels. The extended door supports that Terrawagen were selling are no longer stocked but guess you could always make your own. Bit of work to get the support working correctly. I just bought a van with one fitted as it also has big rubber on rear and a body kit for the slider to clear.

I decided its time to rescue "Bertie" my 82T3 from dreaded cancer...started by buying new windscreen seal and popping the screen out. There were about 4 rustholes so cut them out and started welding new bits in...heheh the donor metal is an old fridge 1mm+

    and progress

    WP_20191023_001.jpg

Bertie must have had a "bra" with those stupid buttons so the will all go and the holes welded up...just a hobby project and this is a good way to keep a log of it!
