why would the generator light come on when I brake?
Had an issue with brakes. Checked fluid. All good. No leaks or fluid under he bus anywhere. Lost brakes apart from flT on the floor. When idling and using the brake, generator light comes on and motor loses power. Anybody got any ideas please?

Just to confirm, the generator/alternator light is in the cluster. The external light I suspect you are referring to on the left of the dash is actually the brake warning light. It means one of the 2 brake circuits has failed or has no fluid and the master cylinder piston has moved to the end of it range.
In your case I would suspect the the booster which is connected to the vacuum line back to the engine may have failed.

thanks so much. Suspected this to be the case. Just for future reference, could you tell me what all three warning lights are again please?
So happy to have a brains trust through the forum.
