What a glorious day today down by the lake.
Fabulous turnout of kombis, bugs, Type 3's, Golfs, a Karmann Ghia and other VWs.

Nice to see lots of familiar faces and to meet some new ones. I started to walk around with the Mars Bar slice but got sidetracked, had to put it back in the cooler as it started to melt in the sun, then didn't get back to walking around with it - sorry if you missed out.

I am hoping Greg will come back with some photos - he was getting fancy with his choice of cameras today ;)

I spoke to a few of you today about a cruise we can do in the coming weeks to Wollombi. I just need to call the pub to make sure we don't turn up on the worst possible day. Stay tuned.

You'll have to wait for the fancy camera photos 'till later in the week. These 80 year old Kodak folders take their time. In the meantime the 1 year old Fujifilm reveals all (well some anyway)

Bernie - it was a great day but a tad cool - nothing that a jacket and sit or stand in the sun wouldnt fix.

Loads of cool VW's and an enormous yank tank which you can see the massive ass of in one of Phil's photos.

I got a few too but my phone battery was dying:

That blue beetle with the CB ? arial looks like an RC car

whats this talk about a cool breeze and jumpers - at 1pm it sounded rather tropical - with an apparent temperature of 15.8 deg up there we had 2.4! Id be stripping off and going for a swim

I should try and make some time and join in next year. Just got to get Narelle a bit more enthusiastic :wtf:

    Bernie,

That remote control Baja had a scooby donk pushing it along - probably does wheel stands!

I need to move to Darwin - not sure if I like the idea of you stripping off Bernie - especially with all the innicent kids around:lol:

It was a great day out at the lake, couldn't have asked for a better day. The kids had a ball running around in the park and we got to enjoy all the great VW's. It's good to see this event is still going after so many years.

great to see a good turn out at the BBQ, we also had a great day out at the track , after the last 2 race meets had been rain out.

Rose did her best time so far. She did a PB of 12.8 sec at 108MPH I think it was her new shoes that did it :)

    Better late than whatever

For those who saw me wandering around with the odd looking camera...

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to download these and when I did it took me half an hour... After all the camera was twice the age of the subjects.
