I'm looking at importing 20 or 30 of these, they simply replace your ashtray.
But the freight is a killer. I'd have to sell them for at least $65.
Would you buy one at Old Bar for that?

How were you planning on having them shipped Robert?
If it is US Postal Service it will be expensive, perhaps a shipping agent could do you a price for a LCL airfreight .

depends how deep it is. the ones in the current under dash tray are too shallow and my drinks spill and a bottle of water of coke doesn't fit. Will this fit those things?

Hey Robert, Classic VW sells these already - I saw them a couple of weeks ago. From memory, George is asking $60 - $65.00. Cheers, Mark

I looked a few months ago and saw nothing. I've been slowly working on the idea since then.

I have one of these in Betty and I can thoroughly recommend them. They keep out of the way of the gearstick and handbrake, and don't obstruct the radio controls.

Shipping is through Fed-Ex. The supplier is looking into cheaper options for me.

Fedex will be horrendously expensive unless the dealer is on a rate with them, I used to use Fedex or UPS to ship out of the States & both were cheap & incredibly fast. If you don't have rates it's best to chat with a shipping agent this end & see if they can get their counterpart to organise collection from the supplier in the US.

I think I should simply buy one from George and be happy with it.

I like them, but can't justify the price. If you can find a cheaper way of doing it, would def be interested.

I do like this idea but for a few bucks extra you could have a whole parcel shelf with drink holders from the bus stop.

I've got the parcel shelf and it sux as a drink holder.
I'm trying to have my shipment thrown in with a friend of a friend's shipping container. It'll take weeks longer but should cut the price.

I think they r a great idea, $65 might be on the high price side BUT I think they are worth it. Just think, if you have to break hard/turn sharp and your drinks go flying everywhere you take your thoughts to that drink spilling for a split second which could be the different in the body work of your bus!!!!
Plus the clean up that will need to be done....
Think about things that cost you approx the same ---DINNER----------CTN BEER + WiNE.... and they are consumed in a night or a week!!
    Food for thought!!

I agree, I had a cup of too hot coffee cooling in my dash tray, went round a corner and it emptied into the next section which just happened to have my new mobile phone in it

Stuffed the phone for a whole week till it dried out, then it was never the same again.

I like it but wouldnt want to pay 60 bucks !!! I bought 2 fold away drinks holders from BCF, supposed to be for boats, screwed them into the side of the seats, works a treat. And I can fold them up when I need to use the walk through !!!! They were only 10 bucks each !!!
