Ha yeah that might be a bit far, might be someone here that knows a good NOR mechanic. My tank used to leak when full, there are some plastic fittings in the top of the tank that go brittle and crack over time, you have to drop the tank but its a pretty easy fix.

the power steering was pretty exciting TBH! the syncro is $10k neg on gumtree. I think I'm going to focus on fixing up all the (minor) issues with the current T3. but I have a feeling it is pretty neg.

I guess I could go just next door, and melt it down and forge it into ute floor components........but I'm still thinking some flat steel may be an easier starting point!;)

I must be a wimp. The difference between driving the '82 and the '89 is remarkable. There is no going back. It was standard on the '89 Caravelle Syncro when I purchased it for $6,300.00 in June 2013. It was a great bargain as so far I have not had anything go wrong mechanically. I did have a challenge thrown my way when I had it repainted from blue to white.

Sorry. I was thinking more of ballast.
Surely you have some chipboard offcuts that will pass for the floor ?
