Has anyone had experience with this type of lock which was on my cargo doors of my 69 Samba Bus Splitty. The latch rods were not working properly so I thought I would take it apart and fix it. However the springs in this thing are very strong and it sprung apart. I am now having difficulty getting it back together. Any help would be appreciated.

I will change your title - they are not barn doors, they are cargo doors. A barndoor is the description of an early splitscreen kombi.

Eventually got it sorted. One of the springs was incorrectly fitted so it is back on now and fully operational.
