    Hi Everyone
Just thought I’d show off my case damage for a few opinions
All other parts crank, cam, heads etc will go to my old mate VW mechanic to decide the direction I will need to go.
Thinking I already know the answer
    In the two photos attached
    What’s the call
Stuffed or not stuffed (feeler gauge is close to size of groove)

    40 thou is 1mm

I have heard of people machining cases to 60 thou but I wouldn’t go there.

So - 1 vote for new case

Isn't there only three sizes of bearings for the case normally at increments of 10 thou. If it is what you are saying it would be x2 Barry's comment new case.

Mike align bored quite a few 1600 and 2 litre cases for me over the years, he supplies bearings to suit.

    He did my cases.

Does some good machining on the thrust bearing so you can get some life out of the case.
That is where a lot of the damage is also done

AC net sells standard, 10, 20, 30 and 40 though for the case and standard, 40 and 80 thou for the thrust.

Pretty sure you use to be able to get 50 and 60 thou.

If it is going to be any sort of decent motor don’t go past 20 thou in my opinion.

Or 40 thou for the thrust.
As I said - Mike does some custom cuts on the thrust so you don’t need to go straight to 40 thou
