Currently running a good 1600 twin port in the split.
The Dellorto 40’s are tired and have a leak.
I’ve looked at VW Heritage, looks like a 3 month wait for the Weber’s.

Has anyone any experience with the Rod Penrose racing twin 40’s?
Don’t want to miss out on the runs now the weather is improving..

You are much better getting the Dells rebuilt rather than put Weber copies on

Put new gaskets and o rings in and a good clean and you will be right.

Ok for a novice? Can see and hear the leak from a rod/spring underneath the carb

The leak is where the rod/spring meets the carb body.

My guess is a leaky diaphram
Easy fix and part of a rebuild kit.

If novice may be worth finding a carb place near you?

A good set of Dells are worth twice a set of Weber copies. Don't change them.
You would be devaluing your car by changing carbs in my opinion

Thanks for the advice. Will try and find a rebuilder.
