On the way there and back the 5Km stretch of road through Galston Gorge was pretty hectic with a few very tight hairpin bends where I had to use most of the road to negotiate the turns. Lunch was at the Wisemans Inn Hotel with a 3 piece band doing their thing in the background. Great to catch up with everyone and enjoyed the cruise/convoy drive back to the Freeway. Don't forget the yummy mars bar slices from Melissa ...thanks!!!

Few pics of the Central Coast / New Castle crew driving off the ferry.

    Good photos!
    Thanks Kai and Frank.

Kai - the 'L' plater was merely the pace car.

Seems it was the day for nearly all states of Oz to have a Kombi Club gathering. Glad you guys had a great time.

I'm glad none of you had to get out of that carpark really quickly. It'd be a bit like in The Castle where they say "hold on Dad, I've gotta move the Camira to get to the Torana" (or something like that).

Fabulous day everyone!!! We had 12 kombis and 1 fastback. I had no idea it was that far away but it was a great drive and our drive home was even more adventurous! Those hairpin turns! did you see the looks on some of those faces of the drivers coming down the hills! Classic. As for the idiots overtaking us - one old bloke in a Camry (I think it was) and that guy with the trailer - talk about dangerous- its not like we were going slow or anything.

Nice to meet you Kai and your dad, good to catch up again Baz and Chris (I hope Michelle's slice of Mars Bar slice made it home in one piece ;) )

We had some long distance guests today with Don (Terrordales) making the day with us and Curtis ( Lumpybus) joing us too - the distance some people will travel for mars bar slice!!!

Any suggestions for next month? I thought about Putt Putt Golf - but I am open to other ideas.

    Putt Putt sounds good good.

It was a camry and a landcruiser that was eager to pass us all.

Thanks to Jon and Melissa for the logistics of today and to Kai and Frank for the photos well done guys! We had a great day our little 1600 scurried up Galston Gorge and then (at times ) hit 115kph up the F3 wonders never cease!
Look forward to next time we do the Kombi's proud !

Jono said "down" not "up" ;)

You wouldnt have been doing 140 by the time you were going past him...
