Not sure on Vintage Vee Dub Supplies in Campsie NSW  you have to call them as their website is limited in that it lists nothing they have for sale.

Classicveedub ....... lets just say that plenty of dissatisfied clients who purchase through their website ...... communication next to difficult to contact via phone and as for email/contact = all the best for a reply  ........ walk in better option or see if another member can help out who lives nearby. Plenty of threads and posts re their service on here so caveat emptor - moderators are getting sick of posts about CVD service. Their ebay shop may be a better bet at least you have ebay and PayPal to back your purchase if it goes sour.

Chrome these days is not what it once was and will without proper care I've found on VW parts start to show signs of rust within 12 months. But having said that I've also found some stainless is not of a real high quality and same situation :(

Thanks Kahuna, I rang Vintage veedub today and theirs are chrome/ stainless steel ($89 plus gst)

I’ve read about classic veedub so was a bit wary.

Maybe I just need to swap to the mix

Cheaper 304 Stainless Steel, is not the same as marine grade 316 Stainless Steel.......... yet both are advertised as just, Stainless Steel. ;)

That the truth:eek:. One is kitchen sink other is Marine grade. Very different from each other. 314 your mild steel steelo will rust onto & the 316 it won't take to (or mark);).

C’mon David...this is not Facebook. Let’s keep it actual, factual, and informative.

What is “314” Stainless Steel? o_O

Glenys, go the ones from Vintage or The Bus Stop - any issues with them @ least you will get through on the phone to talk to them and hopefully resolved to your satisfaction ...... when I purchased my Vintage Speed exhaust for the Type3 from VVDS they shipped the wrong flange adapters = a phone call and the correct ones were express posted.

With the stainlesschrome ones check these out https://www.thebusstop.com.au/1968–79-Bay/Exterior-68-79/External-Mirrors-68-79 ...... expect there isn't much difference in quality. Note they are out of stock  but an enquiry may give you an idea when they will be back.
