    Hello fellow legends.

Finally my splitty has just passed the pits but the clutch squeals real bad everytime the pedal is in. Sounds like metal on metal.
    Doesnt squeal when just idling.

Im not that mechanically minded and have done all the work myself.

Has a new clutch plate and throwout bearing with Swing axle. (1600cc engine)
I did read about people grinding out the bellhousing of the beetle gearbox im running. Which i did NOT do, as i think my flywheel went in there fine but im not sure. Could that be the problem?

Any other ideas or have i just not put the clutch in correctly

I really wanna drive this thing asap (4 year build)

Doubt it - more talking about putting a 12V flywheel in a 6V gear box

Reckon the throw out bearing is not seated properly

    Sounds like throw out bearing

Have you installed the right pressure plate and or throw out bearing

Throw out should be the one with little horseshoe like clips

Pressure plate should have centre ring on fingers

Thanks for the replys guys, Problem was the throw out bearing. me being a spaz and using the old bearing with the new style clutch plate.

ended up swapping over the gearbox and bearing to suit the clutch.

Went for the first drive today! was great.
