Contact Adhesive Removal

    Anyone got any tips on this. I have tried Turps, Citrus base products, sanding, scrapping, cutting compound etc. Getting there slowly but takes time.

    acetone used sparingly,will remove "everything"

    Product i used to use in the trade was "Prepsol", Wax & Grease remover. Use it with a fine scouring pad (Scotchbrite) & it will wash away.

    Toluene- wear a mask:)
    We recently cleaned complete rear floor which had a crummy black glue that nothing would penetrate. It is an acetone as Rob suggested. Bunnings stock.

    YES, good point. Rule of thumb with any of these Solvents, is that is you can't smell it, you are in trouble.........VERY bad.

    Don't forget the gloves..I wore the skin off my fingers with some wonder product Andy got from Bunnings, his fingers were too big to get in the small places so it was my job... I didn't realise how bad it was till I'd finished.....couldn't hold a pen for days!!!!!!!!!!!!...have learn't my lesson now.......Lorraine
