Ok. Due to work turning rather pearshaped, I am leaving WA bound for the bus stop. Left this afternoon from Albany. Gives me only 42 days to get there. Could be a struggle, but I think I will make it.

Any other takers from the west to join in this epic cruise ?????? ..... <silence> ...... Looks like it will be just me then.

Go on Rossco, you know you want to.

42 days!! Have a safe trip - you might become the pied piper of kombis and end up with a group following you, picking up along the way. :)

I was thinking the same. 42 days, I would love that but unfortunately I'm under two hours away from this years Bus Stop. Keep us informed how you are going and where you are along the way.

Don't forget to book your site for the Bus Stop.

Glad to hear you will be there, safe travels.

This trip will be like a homecoming for your Kombi. I remember it in one of our Nimbin MardiGrass Kobi Konvoys.

A - Sheer and utter insanity
    B - A wing and a prayer
    C - Blind luck
D - All of the above.

But I am glad I took the shortest and quickest path .........

Forget bridges, they are so totallyoverrated. The only way to cross the mighty Murray is by ferry .....

But on the other hand if we were to have bridges, they should all be like this one somewhere down Gippsland way. Wrought iron gates, wooden planking and opening for boats are essential. What has gone wrong with the bridge builders of today ???

Finally good to see a bit of water in the lower lakes. But I am sure all future governments will fight tooth and nail to stuff it up.
    Lake Albert.

Wasn't too long ago that I saw the waterline about 50m past the end of the jetty

Well the convoy from WA has made it across a couple of borders and has hit NSW. Now the really really slow bit begins. First town was a wonderful place called Eden - would make a great destination for a bus stop :p

Gillards beach, Mimosa Rocks national park
    [IMG]

And you can meet new friends there. All you need to do is turn up with some good grass !
