Time to get planning people! It's already February (as if you didn't already know) and time is getting away. If you are coming from a long distance, try getting together with a few others and travel as a group. Plan your trip with what is comfortable for you and your passengers and your kombi.

To give you an idea - when we went to Mt Gambier, we travelled as a group and would do 150kms then stop for morning tea, do another 150kms, stop for lunch, another 150kms and stop for the night and dinner. This gave us enough time to get there without rushing and we would cover at least 450kms in a day. We had plenty of time though and took the long way down the coast and along the Great Ocean Road.

I reckon you will be needing another Macca break on that long trip.

We'll get in Maccas Casino, Grafton, Coffs & Kempsey at least.....now that's a real Convoy :)

Particularly for you first timers - I was a member of Melissa's east coast convoy to Mt. Gambier which my first Busstop. I hadn't met any of the convoyers before and was made very welcome and we had a great time. Given that I did have some kombi problems along the way, as did others, it was great to have the practical support of the group.

    Cheers,..John

As long term members here would know, I used to organise Kombis for VIP artist transport to the Corinbank Music Festival, and one of the Kombi's I always pleaded to have was a 2 seater 67 rat panel.

Not the most useful vehicle in the fleet, for people transport, although worked well in tandem for the bands gear, with an 8 seater, but the owner / driver was a qualified VW mechanic! ;)

I will be leaving Adelaide on the Monday prior to Easter to go to B/ST at Swansea, if any one is interested to convoy, I would normally go through Ouyen but that can be changed to suit others if required ,
My itinerary will be to cruise quietly ,enjoy the drive and arrive safely on Thursday. If interested , contact me on this forum.

    regards Chris

Getting the GPS primed and sorted komvoy from Warners Bay ,Eleebana,Valentine ,Belmont might need to get a NRMA pilot to guide the way
