Cooktown

    Last year I did Cooktown in Far North Qld. The inland road is all sealed and good quality now. On the coast south there are free camping spots but these roads are your usual dirt tracks but worth the effort to find your very own coconut palm lined tropical beach. Where ever you go I recomend you take the book "Camps Australia 4" with you.

    too bad some one got taken by a 5 metre crock last week, its gonna scare away those tourists 4 a while'

    cooktown also has a couple of festivals "the discovery festival" which celebrates the visit of captain cook in 1770, thats in june' and the wallaby creek festival which was last week' i was onlny there a few days b4 but were planning to go next year'
