Issue with the wearing of a mask while driving & even with A/C on is that your glasses fog up as you exhale  .... this to me becomes a driving safety issue as it does distract you .
Lots of people having the same issue while just walking or working or shopping

A mask with an exhaust flap valve will prevent that Bert....
Commonly used to prevent breathing in AND out through the same filter membrane.
Warm, moist, exhaled air passes directly out and you can only inhale through the mask membrane.....
Same as Grant was talking about.
    Cheers,

With the rule changes we are now able to return to Vic. Permit printed and air tickets purchased. Flying out tomorrow evening unless things go pear shaped again. Been a nice extended stay with the family!
Happy to wear a mask as required. Better than the terrible impacts the covid is having overseas. Keep safe!

Haven't seen anyone with one of those masks but know what you're talking about ;)
Everyone seems to have surgical masks or tailored ones & thus breathing in/out through the same medium  so if you got the virus you're just sucking in more of it after each exhale

The valve would be a bad idea in this situation. It would help you from catching it but do bugger all to stop you spreading it.

Unfortunately hardly anyone wears a mask around here, or uses the NSW covid app in shops.

I think Bondi people need to be injected with bleach. They really are a special breed.

That is a good point Phill and one I hadn’t considered.....
In my naivety, I was only considering the protection of the wearer.

During the Victorian lockdown, we were told not to wear these type of masks. Like @syncro said, it doesn't reduce the virus spreading.

"Paramedic Declan Gregg says most of his colleagues have contracted COVID."

    Now we know why.

They are PPE, ie Personal Protective Equipment, so designed to protect the user.

As to an infected person wearing one, the risk of spread is only to others NOT wearing a mask.....

They are far more comfortable on a fireground and around dust producing machines for wearing during extended periods, especially in warmer weather.

    Or spread to any object.

I think I'll go along with what the experts say.

I’ll just have to make sure I’m the only one wearing that type, if I’m in a mask mandated area.

I’ll also keep doing what I’ve been doing. Staying 2m minimum away from anyone, use the hand sanitiser readily available most places, wipe down the shopping trolleys with the disinfectant supplied, avoid touching any unnecessary surfaces, and not touch my face, as the experts advise.

Then to be sure, I use my own hand sanitiser mounted on the Kombi bull bar, before I touch the door handles or my keys, before entering my vehicle for the trip home. ;)

Back home in sunny Melbourne. On arrival in Melbourne we were bussed from the plane to the terminus and ushered to staff for a permit and identification check. All OK with passengers patient and social distancing. Took a while but no problem. Need to get tested within 72 hours and isolate until clear. Off today to the drive thru. Extra week with family at Merewether was great but good to be home.

Expect Coles FlyBuy would be doing the same.

I'm ok with it coz @ least they've instigated something to trace who was @ their store(s) if tracing required ..... the Qld Gov't with all their employees, 12 months on have still to generate a QR Code for businesses to use and can't say if or when it will provide one so in the meantime do as we tell you but don't expect us to do something to help you
