Hi All was wondering if anyone has any ideas on repairing a distributor, I have managed to strip the thread where the points attach, was wondering if welding and re-tapping it would be worthwhile plate is not really thick enough to helli coil also would anyone know the part number and if it is available new it is a type 4 engine 205 distributor

Could you re-tap the stripped hole with a little larger diameter thread ?

After so many years it would be worth while to get it reconditioned. Lots of wearing parts and the new ones are rubbish.
