3rd Brake light combo is from wish. Baclights up the entire rim. day light is good when lit
3rd brake light daylight
It will be better with a clean rim
Setting up front & rear winch assembly. I have to sort out anderson plugs for it to be moveable between the front & rear bars
The landcruiser heater motor turned out to be a 1 speed. I modified the housing to take the Ambulance type fan with 2 speed mtor heaps better air flow
started at the rear for the electrical work using retro reflectors similar to the Army vehicles. fitted up the reversing sensors & camera. run wiring to the front I have to set up the front sensor units in the nudge bar.
reversing camera mounted under cap simple unplug to remove spare
Subaru Impreza rear wiper motor & drive fitting with washer nozzle
A bit more done today the new wiper of a prius arrived I had to mod it a little bit to fit. I plan on heating the plastic to bend it down a bit flatter.
also picked up a pair of late Patrol door mirrors with flashers I had to do a bit of modding to fit it I will plastic weld bits on to cover the gaps & make a new spacer to fit it straight. good visibility from drivers seat.
Totally in awe, Ernie.....
Would love to be a fly on the wall come roadworthy time......I reckon the fella’s jaw will require wiring up to stop it hitting the ground !
How many different makes and models are in this bus now?
Love to know the tally...
Does this bus have a name yet?
If not, “Heinz” is a good Germanic name, especially with it’s 57 varieties of build parts....
Name is ECLECTIC. last count 57 different parts manufacturers I have an outdated list I have to ad to.
G'day all. Happy & better New Year to you all following my build . here's some of the work involved in fitting the mirrors right the 1st time so the mounts don't fail. Start with good material off the shelf. then cut it to suit required angle of the base. then shape & weld ends on the linish to shape of the curve in the door. you will see as I go through the pics. It will be held on with rivnuts & 6mm cuphead screws.
This is for the front edge hence the curve to follow shape of the upper door
finished front plate
this is the rear filling plate
finished job. It needs a fine linish on the bottom edge to let it sit down flush.
unavoidable gap due to cuts needed
solution a wedge welded to top pf bracket then sealed to mirror with black polyurethane
I just realised the plate is back to front on the base
that's sort of stuff i have to make that takes so much time out of the build. Tomorrow is engine detailing day. I have the block stripped of heads & timing case & sump to clean it.
Afternoon all. I started fitting the 2nd filler to the left side yesterday. A bit of work involved including the removal of the spare wheel tub. I'm using a long range range rover tank. It's away having the 2nd inlet added Along with a baffle plate & surge pot. I found the fuel spill flap is a modified hg holden. they were dearer than a ve valiant. I had to cut it & make a spacer band to have tigged into it.
prior to welding
the original unit at the back/ I cleaned it up on the wire brush It looks like they filled it with magic metal bog stuff .
I had to remove the spare wheel tub to make room for the fuel pipe
found this gem when I took fuwl filler hose out to check rubbers before final fit up of fuel tank. Have you checked yours.
cover over hole left from well
I cut out the right hands side to allow access to the battery. there will be one on either side. one for accessories & one for powertrain. fitted nutserts to the fuel filler area to screw on the covers.
