Good roll up of cars and great to catch up with Brett and others.

Impressed with Wilfred and his output - funny the print out looked nothing like that when I saw it. :)

You will have to be patient for figures as mine might have been the only kombi except for Aaron's and by the time I left it still had not gone on the Dyno.

I know from talking to Brendan/Life in the Low Lane that he was working on organisation until after 2 am the morning of the Dyno and the drags went late into the night. A big day for someone who was involved.

Whilst pics might not do it for you, Nick, you just might have to be a little more patient ......... the guys who ran the day and night have not had much time to post anything yet. On another site Al/Das Dubber posted a thankyou post close to midnight last night after he got home from the day.

If Brendan or Al has the results I am sure they will publish them in due course.

Thanks guys for organising a top day at Leon's and the Drags at Willowbank last night.

    Cheers
    Brett

    Not a problem Nick.

I know you're itching to see what Aaron's Quick Camper with its 20 B Mazda Rotary puts out ......... :D ..........

BTW Aaron is the guy who makes the custom safaris for Bays .......... and they are on all the windows except the front three. See the post earlier in this thread. He has also installed electric passenger and driver windows in the front doors of his bay. No more quarter glass windows for him.

    Cheers
    Brett

Aaron is pretty handy and has developed these safari window setups himself.

Only found out about the electric windows yesterday at the Dyno Day.

He gets the glass cut for the safaris so I am assuming he does the same for his electric windows.

  16. Dyno Mania 2009 presented by Das Resto Haus in conjunction with Dak A Tak racing drag night has been run and done with great weather and great numbers of spectators and comeptitors all turning up for a day of fun, catching up with VW mates and meeting some new ones.

Big thank you to Leon's motors for hosting the dyno day. andrew, Leon, Quintin and Peter all did a great job getting the cars on and off the dyno and kept everyone entertained thoroughout the day with the noise of screaming VW's of all shapes and sizes.

I must thank Peter Page for his help with running this event because it is simply impossible to run an event like this single handed. I haven't had the spare time I used to with a job change so Pete had to do a lil more so I thanks mate for all your efforts!! Hence we must also thank our wives for their help with organising artwork, advertising material and general computer skills that Pete and I lack a bit of!! I must also thank Jen and Lisa for keeping everyone happy with food and drinks on the day as well. Also thank you to Lisa's Mum and Breanna and Christina for their help too!!

Unfortunately the test and tune at Willowbank was very bust with over 350 cars running so it was a very long wait between runs so most opted for one run and go home. Aaron Roberts broke a CV after a great burnout and failed to see the 60 foot mark( his Dad was playing mind games in the other lane LOL) Troy Alder got the Fastback down the track without incident or breakage much to his relief so now it is off to the dyno again to get the car tuned and wind up the boost. Stanley also had his first run with new engine since putting an inspection window in the last one!! Everyone else had a good time and track conditions were good and temps were certainly favourable for good times. Hopefully next year we willl see some more cars running and a few of the watercooled guys are keen to come out as well.

Thanks Brendan for all your work in helping to organise the day at Leon's and the Drags.

A lot of work which was much appreciated by all of us.

Thanks Al for sponsoring the event and a huge patr on the back for Leon and his team who worked like Trojans to get the vehicles on and off the Dyno.

    Thanks guys and girls.

    Cheers
    Brett
