Have a 2002 ej 25 in my syncro has been running with no problems for 6 years, drove it into the garage the other night and put the battery charger on it ,now won't start, fires when you turn the key then just dies, fuel pump cycles when you turn the key, have tried bypassing the fuel pump relay and running direct to fuel pump but still won't start, thinking it may be the immobilizer as it does the same thing with subi key in place or not,any thoughts or tests would be much appreciated
    cheers mike

There is a few main fuses as well.

When I first hooked mine up I forgot to install one of the main fuses and no fire.

As soon as it was installed it fired well.

    Worth checking...

With 3 kombis now with subies in them I have now removed and reinstalled the EJs many times now. I have had many crank no start issues.
A couple of tools I found real useful

    A) I installed a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in the engine bay. This way I can easily see if I have fuel pressure when I have No start.
    B) set of noid light adaptors they clip to the spark plugs and I can see if I have spark at each cylinder.

This has solved most of my crank no start issues.

    What did the codes mean?

You probably really need to go to a Subaru forum for assistance.

The only 2 Subaru specialists that I know of are at Campbelltown and Mortdale unfortunately.

I don't think has much Subaru on his engines. It's all aftermarket ecu and efi. Although he may know something from being NRMA.

Totally agree....the Subie donks are awesome. So easy to get parts for too.

Those IAC valves are a bit problematic. I had one being a pain for a while - fixed it with a replacement. Then 6 months ago another one started to carry on - kept idling too high so replaced that and all good again.
