Just received a new strip of foam to replace my decayed foam strip -which way up does it go - the thin profile or the thick section up?

Thick up. Thin down. Widest to the top.

Well, now I am confused - both answers are contradictory - on my profile, the thin side is shiny, so David says thin(shiny ) down, Split says shiny up.o_O

    Help

Not looking at 'polish' just width. Widest to the top edge. I'm sure it will look shiny then!
Re opinion/discussion. Butlers manual will sort it. Never been a difference of advice on KC;). I agree join at firewall.
    Cheers
PS. I thought both sides of my new rubber were shiny!;)
    Check width against this.

Thanks everyone. I installed it yesterday - bitumen side down, fat foam side up. Simple job and it took about 30mins. The old one just crumbled as I took it out - guess over time the foam doesn`t like the heat
