Enjoyable race, on one one the best circuits.:)

Max Verstappen keeps getting away with go-cart type moves......o_O

No spoilers here, for those KC'ers who will watch delayed broadcasts of the race. ;)

How did the taxi races in Bathurst pan out?

So called taxi race had it's share of unexpected and explained mechannical failure - Lowndes/Richards gear lever sheared @ transaxle end so end of their chance to win as lost 6 laps for that.
All the drama unfolded on lap 150 down through the chase when Winchup tried to cut under McLaughlin and sent him off then to redress baulked Tander, McLaughlin floors it across the grass and Tander no where to go as Winchup should have let him pass and so McLaughlin slams into Tander wrecking his car and himself going into the tyre barrier ...... Winchup drives off unscathed. Really poor form then complains as to 15 second penalty he gets relagating him from 1st to 11th.
Winner Tekno Autosport Will Davison/Jon Webb ..... appeal lodged against this by RBR/Winchup. They never led the race at any stage
    2nd RBR van Gisberg
    3rd Nick Percat/Cam McConville.

Dave Reynolds in the Erebus Penrite Commodore 13 laps down BUT sets fastest ever race lap - 2m06.2769s on his 139th lap of the race.

Report & video clips here is anyone interested - http://www.foxsports.com.au/motorsp...y/news-story/5f2b2b33f773a5720d156463cbd09ee6

Thanks for the quiet on F1 result. Watched late last night. Good theory but drifted of toward the end! Had to google result. So what is the excuse for Danny? Start was OK and was hanging in. The Merc's looked good even with Hamilton messing up from the grid. Did not bother with Bathurst.

Before the start of the Japanese GP, there were only 3 drivers still able to win the 2016 WDC. Now it's just 2, with Mercedes having picked up the WCC.

Danny is 101 points behind Rosberg, so even winning the 4 remaining races ( if Rosberg & Hamilton got no points), he would still be 1 point short of the WDC.

By my calculations, Rosberg only has to finish 2nd or better in each of the remaining 4 races to win the WDC.

Hamilton now needs Rosberg to have a DNF or two, or very low scoring finish results, to be able to win......

Kinda thinking the same...... especially as the next 3 are in the US timezone, which means stupidly early hours of the morning here, and even the finale in Abu Dhabi is moved to a dusk start, meaning midnight race start here. :(

Errm....Max Verstappen actually got a penalty, after finishing the race, and just before the presentation, putting Vettel onto the podium.........;)

But that was this morning live on the podium. Did something further happen????

Vettel was penalised after race and Dan into third.
I only have verbal advice, presume it was for a driving infringement rather than radio language.

As we head into the 2nd last race at Interlagos for the Brazilian GP, Rosberg could win his first WDC if he wins the GP.

If Hamilton wins, the decider will happen in the final race at Abu Dhabi. For Hamilton to win the WDC, he needs to win both of the last 2 races AND Rosberg to finish 4th or worse, in one of the two remaining races........

It's looking like a big ask for Hamilton, considering even if he wins both races, he can still lose the WDC.

He's got pole position for the race, so his only hope, is still going to plan.

Rosberg just has to come 1st in Brazil, or 2nd in both races, or even 3rd in one of them, and he still wins the title.

Personally, I feel Hamilton is the fairer driver, and better sportsman, and so deserves the title more, and as he's the only Merc powered car to have suffered an engine collapse this year, rendering him zero points for that race, he's been a bit unlucky to be in the position he's currently in.o_O

But that's how this sport works......;)

I never thought I'd be applauding Verstappen during a race......but in attrocious conditions, he drove an incredibly impressive race, simply outclassing every other driver, even jumping Rosberg to be 2nd at one stage.

We've had so called "rain masters" in the past, and Max is right up there with the best of those able to handle bad to zero visibility, and find grip on areas that most would think not possible, on a super wet track.

How lucky is Rosberg that the "double points for the final round" rule, that only lasted one season, doesn't apply this year?

As we head into the final race of the season, the stats are pretty simple:

If Rosberg is on the podium at the end of the race, he will be the 2016 WDC, even if Hamilton is on the top step.

News tonight announced that there’ll be no more “grid girls” for the 2018 season......

Good move, and won’t stop me watching every race, as I don’t tune in just to watch the models around the track.

I watch the cars and drivers racing! :)

If less non fans stop watching with this move...... it’s a good thing. ;)

Leaves it to the true fans of the sport. :D
