hi Peter, I happened across this rotor while sorting though papers today. It is a 276mm rotor and you are loosing .4mm hat height but may suit and save you turning down the rotor.
double check your hub as the ID of the hat is 1mm smaller than the standard.

I could not find that part # but I did find 447 615 301B which could the new # to a superseded part. This is a 276x25 disc from an Audi 100/200 (the US called them Audi 5000 I think) from around 1982 to 1991. They were sold here but not in great numbers.

the drawing did have A and B written on it. It sounds like the same place that peters calipers are coming from

    CIP1 sell these for $80US.

I think that the good syncro upgrade may use Audi A6 discs.

The G60 caliper was made by Lucas Girling and was used by VW/Audi in the 80's through to the early 90's
Its featured in alot of discussion re this upgrade on the net.
Some have quoted Smallcar and other upgrade kits available are all using G60 calipers in their kits.

I'm still behind the eight ball - wreckers still haven't sent my order?
I'll check this once I have some bits to play with.

I am just wondering why they are called G60?

Both Lucas and Girling are usually a bad sign.

I finally got my G60 Girling calipers the other week.
    Brand new
    Got them from USA
See the photo above - got them from ECS
And now I've found the brake pads to suit, here in Oz.
Next, tracking a suitable rotor (disc) to suit.
Then take the caliper carriers to a machine shop to modify the carriers.
    watch this space
Once its all done I'll do spreadsheet with assoc costs and sources

I got mine from Smallcar in the USA a few weeks ago and had them installed on Monday.

They look great but havent made a huge difference yet but they look sexy - loads bigger than the factory ones. I will have to get some photos off my phone. Very heavy calipers though but nice big 290mm ventilated discs.

Need new rear brakes ATM so awaiting Luckyphils kit.

Picking up some T4 calipers tomorrow to use in the kit....

Looks like you'll all be safer with me out front in a convoy......so I don't run into the back of anyone with my stock braking system. o_O

Have to use a GPS now, to get us all lost....:D

The bloke I got my T4 rear calipers from was very surprised to hear that they are Lucas brand calipers as he referred them to a dark force - designed to kill people. However he said that is one part of his T4 he never had a problem with.

I noticed the solid rear discs are quite thin on the early T4's. Actually rear discs didn't start on T4's until 1996. These were off a late 1997 model so hopefully they remain good.

All the seal rubbers were still in awesome condition once cleaned.

Saw a set of T4 Lucas rear discs on a T3 this morning which have been on for around 5 years. The discs were new when installed and I could not feel or see any wear at all. The owner said has not had to touch them since installation. Mine will be on by next weekend so watch the "T3 Rear Disc Brake" post for more news and pics.

The pictures tell the story.....very happy - they even stop better and smoother....not just look better.
