Hi guru's. Our 74 T2 got crappy, non original seats (not certified). Like to replace them with some nice other non-original ones.
Any suggestions with brand will suit best? Thanx.

    Recaros.
They are ADR approved and easy to get approved.

You want something that the squab sits low and is about 520 wide.

Most seats have a thick base and you sit high.
Too wide a base and you will have to off set the seat. This plays havoc with seat belt stem, door space and foot pedals.

Look for some Recaros out of Proton Satria GTi's and some Suzuki.

If you look in my member ride post you will see mine. I have a T3 but same same

Why not originals? Just done Bus Stop run from Melbourne to Stanthorpe and currently back to Merewether. Comfy.

I have to agree with Alpal. Good original set with no broken springs and been re-trimmed including the padding work a treat, comfy on the tush:rolleyes: .I had a set of stratos seats when I brought my 72 kombi 20 plus years ago they where like sitting on a BBQ grill:eek: flip me over and I was done:confused:

These days its probably cheaper to buy new recaros than buying used kombi seats and getting them reupholstered.
