    For some reason, the lid is in 3 strips - maybe it was the only material available to the original box builder? o_O

    I’ll cut and fit a single piece lid for you Nils, before I deliver it to Phil. ;)

    That was designed by Rudi to allow it to be pulled partly away allowing the top support to stay in place (or be properly located) whilst allowing more stuff to be stuck in the box.

    When Rudi returned mine he sent back the factory bell-housing and all the dud parts he replaced.

    Germans always have their reasons!

    I’ve put his 3 part lid inside, and fitted a single piece lid, so you can decide which one to use. ;)

    I’ve now put my spare used gearbox in a new crate, for long term storage....

    Indeed I do feel I’ve become a plywood crate and cardboard craftsman of late, that just knocks out the odd bit of furniture in my spare time...:eek:

    Maker of fine furniture from best grades of CD ply. ??:eek:
    Maybe keep some good hardwood sawdust for next gearbox ?
