Does anyone know why my glove box lid won't close properly? When closed, it sticks up about 1cm from being fully closed. Maybe the hinges have been put on incorrectly?

Check that the cardboard inner is not damaged and getting in the way of the hinges

you can bend where the hinges are attached to the metal dash

Mine sits about 4 mm proud of the dash which I rather like as when you close it there is not the slam of lid on metal dash;). Agree with rstucke re bending upper tabs but I would probably prefer some half washers as wedges under the mounting to achieve the outcome:).

There is a lot of adjustment in the screws so you might just need to loosen them and push it back, or bend the mounting tabs on the dash.

Can't see anything in the way of the hinges.

Ah ok, I'll give that a try!

That's a good point David, I hate slamming noises! I could probably cope if it was only 4mm, but it's sticking up way too high and disturbing my OCD o_O

    Thanks, I'll give it a go... :)

I managed to slightly bend back the metal where the hinges were attached. It closes perfectly now. Thanks guys. :)

Well that made a huge difference

Great outcome - simple but satisfying
