Hi kombi lovers, just curious if anyone has upgraded their headlights for better performance?
I have upgraded the H4 globes but the low beams still really struggle. Maybe I'm used to the HID upgrade that is done on our lancer. Is it just the old wiring perhaps?
    Thanks for any suggestions

They will never match modern lights.
    First check is good reflectors
Then voltage under load at pins.
Dont go higher than 60-55 without adding heavier wiring and relays

Thanks cbus, I'll start with fresh wiring. Do the relays go between the switch and bulb?

The power via the existing switch will control the relays switching .
A new fused cable from battery will supply power to relays
Power out from relays to bulbs.

    Should be a circuit somewhere.
    Will check ratwell.
Think there have been some comparisons posted but search facility isnt great.

I recently brought new Hella headlights that except H4 globes. I put in the Phillips 130 plus globes. I haven't notice much better in brightness then what was in there. Next step for me is putting relays in.

I would go for relays before changing wiring or globes - they are easy to install and getting the full voltage to the original headlights makes a big difference.
