I was on the Goldy last week and went to the Balter brewery. Great beer.....but Coopers home brew when in Nelson Bay.

Yeah you were pretty well in my back yard mate. Im a little further out towards Currumbin Valley though. Nelson Bay isn't to shabby either by memory. :)
I love getting away in the kombi but being at home isn't to bad either around here;) (If you look closely you can see our Kombi in there pic LOL)

Looks like a top spot. I really enjoy the rock pools and the waterfall at the end of Currumbin Creek Road. We get the yellow tails here as well......mainly in threes. I saw thirteen out at Fingal the other day. Fingal here.... not Fingal there. Make the most of it Surfing 72. Enjoy.

    cheers,
    AJD

Hey, we're just around the corner from you in Tugun up at the top of the hill.
I've seen your van around plenty of times on the Goldie - a week or two ago we were sitting in Backbone and you zoomed right past us

Tugun hey. I surf there a lot to get away from the crowds:). Funny you mention Backbone Bar - we were there last Sunday for the first time - our son was playing guitar there. We met Gav the owner, lovely bloke and not a bad place. Shout out if ya see us on the GC - Happy Oz day, Dan

We've probably surfed right next to each other at some point then - I surf Tugun most days. I'm not usually in the kombi though (my mrs calls my car 'the sandpit' - not sure I want to do that to the kombi). I'll give you a shout next time I see the van in Currumbin/Tugun/wherever.

Good to hear that your lad is doing the music at Backbone. Was that his first time or has he done it before? We've seen a few younger guys playing there on Sundays. I suspect we'll end up in there this afternoon too ;)

Yeah first time for our young bloke. He was invited by another young bloke so they were jamming a couple of sets together. Still unsure if we'll hit Backbone or Iron and Resin Garage for the arvo. Might see you there;)

I had reason to attend ABF and have a vehicle x-rayed today for work and coincidentally a 74 import from Brazil was getting done prior to my job. It was fascinating having a look what the ABF crew can do. Moral of the story....don't attempt to import drugs / guns into Oz in ya Kombi:)

I wonder if a well trained eye to the x-ray image, could detect hidden rust, that’s not solid metal?

So we went chasing waves for 5 days at Yamba / Angourie. Thanks to Tropical Cyclone Uesi we jagged big swell but decided against camping and hired a beach house. Turns out the weather was fine so probably should have camped. I lost another GoPro in big surf on day 2 so no surfing photos unfortunately. Awesome place if you haven't been.

How crowded was it in the water?
I was there a few months back.
I can see that point holds a big swell, but did u check other beaches out? I wondered if the beach breaks hold or close out in that massive swell
