    Hi Guys

Just spoke with Tony who had just spoken with TJ and the RACQ had a good look at his Kombi (RACQ guy had worked on Komibs before) and he thinks that what has happened is the oil filter was not put in tight enough or properly when TJ had his Kombi last serviced. TJ will stay where he is for the night and the RACQ guy is hoping to have a new oil filter to him by 10.30 tomorrow so TJ can still make the meet with the rest of the convoy.

Hey Matt, Big Ted is going well, had a bit of a leak with rain yesterday morning as the weather was terrible Tony tells me. I'm still home and will meet up with them on the 28th - can't wait.

Judy, thanks so much for ringing TJ and assisting.

Ballina is on one of the islands just north of Tasmania... the big one...;)

Good luck TJ. I hope your kombi isn't difficult to fix.

Yay team - hope this is all OK and that TJ can complete his journey with the rest of them. To get a response up in 30 minutes after the initial call for help is pretty amazing!. :D

Just spoke with Tony and TJ was back on the road this morning at 9.30am. All good. The RACQ guy just happened to be a VW mechanic!!!

Eve was excited to tell to me they were heading for the Sydney Harbour Bridge and on the highway they saw a Kombi broken down on the side of the road so they all pulled in - 3 Kombis to the rescue - not sure what was wrong but they got the bloke back on the road. Cool 'eh. Hope they took photos.

Hey Jane - glad Eve is having a good time. I remember driving over the Harbour Bridge when I first got my licence and it scared the bejeezus out of me. Pretty exciting though!

3 Kombis to the rescue huh?! I bloody love Kombis and the people who drive them. :D

If you want a good run over the Harbour Bridge, take the lane furtherst to the right (Lane 4 or 5). You get a great run... but it is nicknamed the Suicide Lane... ;) You get used to it! :)

Mmmm done the bridge run twice now in BC... once nothbound on one trip and once southbound on another.... and somehow avoided a toll or a fine for an unpaid toll on both occasions!??!!?!

When you drive over in a Kombi you actually notice how steep the curvature of the bridge really is!

Schmo - how'd you get thru the gates southbound??? Did you fake a breakdown, then shuttle over on the Cahill Expressway lane??? ;) No tolls northbound so don't worry about it! :)

You're supposed to drive on the bitumen, not the metal bit!

No wonder you didn't pay the toll :)

    Hi Guys,

All ended up being ok! As Jane said the oil filter was not tight enough...Will be having words with my mechanic! We ended up spending the night in Broadwater at the NRMA holding yard, Was in the end a pretty good location and outcome. Thanks for your help and offers of assistance.

    Cheers,

    TJ
