Just a quick hello. I've just purchased a '62 splitscreen microbus. Needs some rust repairs (nose, sills etc.). Will probably have lots of questions. I don't know how to post pictures yet, but there is a tiny photo of it with my member profile.

    Cheers, Ben.

Hey there Ben, welcome to the Kombi Club!

Your kombi looks great - we will of course want to see pictures! :)

The easiest way to post pix is to join a free photo-sharing site (eg photobucket and then copy the "IMG" link (third line down under each photo) and paste into your post.

Have fun, post your questions up, enjoy the forums, and catchya 'round!

Anti Aging Cream will do the trick.

Nice lookin Splitty Penguin. My nose needs attention as well but I see it as an old age wrinkle that simply adds character. One day though, I will try some of that Este Lauder "Anti Aging Cream" - "Cos she deserves it" hahahaha Mmmmm sorry - I'll go now!!!!!!

    Cheers and welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome. This is my fourth Kombi. My first was a '76 Transporter in the mid 80's. I've also owned a '92 Synchro which I sold a couple of years ago. I now drive a '93 T4 caravelle 2.5 - very nice car, but very different to the rear engined boxer. I'll post more pics soon.

    Cheers, Ben

Thanks. Beryl green and pearl white. Has a 1500 single port, reco approx 10,000 miles ago- runs like a swiss watch. I just need to fix the brakes and deal with the rust so I can register it. The bus had sat for about 9 years prior to me buying it.

Wow thats a beauty! Did you buy this splittie in Tassie or have it shipped from the mainland? Loving the colours too and white wall tyres - my personal favourites.
